Dr Simeon Zahl is a Junior Research Fellow at St John's College and Associate Director of the Centre for Theology and Modern European Thought in the Faculty of Theology and Religion. His research focuses on emotion, religious experience, and concepts of the Holy Spirit in Protestant theological traditions from the Reformation to the present. His current project is a monograph on the affections in the thought of 16th century reformers Martin Luther and Philipp Melanchthon. He is the author of Pneumatology and Theology of the Cross in the Preaching of Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt (T&T Clark/Continuum, 2010) and co-editor of The Modern Theologians Reader (Wiley-Blackwell, 2012), and is editing, with Nicholas Adams, The Blackwell Companion to Christianity.
