DPhil Candidate
Edward Still

Edward is an AHRC funded DPhil candidate at St Catherine’s College, Oxford. His thesis centres on the representation of women in francophone Algerian novels of the 1950s and early 1960s. His article on the work of the bande dessinée artist Jacques Ferrandez, specifically the work’s relationship to pied-noir postmemory, will be published in a special issue of Studies in Travel Writing in Spring 2017 and Edward will pursue the wider issue of bande dessinée form and ideological contestation in his postdoctoral research.
