Helena Mills

AHRC DPhil Student

Helena Mills is an AHRC funded DPhil student in History. Her thesis, 'Representation, Experience and Memory in 1960s British Youth Culture' explores whether the iconic image of the 'swinging sixties' that has been created by academia, the media, and popular memory is commensurate with the everyday lived experience of 1960s young adults.

Helena's research interests focus particularly on youth culture and gender history and how age, gender and class interact within social status and the life cycle more broadly.
