We are delighted to announce acclaimed tenor, Ian Bostridge CBE as the Classical Music and Musical Education Humanitas Visiting Professor.
Ian Bostridge has put together a generous programme of events set to begin on Tuesday 18th November with his inaugural lecture "Why Winterreise? Schubert's Song Cycle, Then and Now". He will then be joined by pianist Julius Drake for a recital at which they are set to perform Schumann, Dichterliebe (op. 48); R. Strauss, Krämerspiegel (op. 66); and songs by Lizst. An all-day symposium will follow on Friday 21st November with his professorship coming to an end on Sunday 23rd November with what is set to be a stimulating open rehearsal/masterclass with the Oxford University Orchestra and guest singers at the Sheldonian Theatre.
This series is sure to be both insightful and enjoyable, with tickets in great demand.
