Humanities Poster Competition 2015
TORCH is holding a poster showcase and competition for early career academics (DPhils and postdoctoral researchers). Selected posters will be displayed in the Radcliffe Humanities building. A prize of £150 in book tokens will be offered for the winning poster, £100 for second place, and £50 for third place.
The wiiners of the TORCH and Humanities Division Poster Competition 2015 have been announced. First place was awarded to Emily Knight, "Art, Death and Memory: Late Eighteenth to Early Nineteenth Century Posthumous Portraiture in Britain", second place to, Laura Ludtke, "The Lightscape of Literary London, 1880-1950", and third place to Kanta Dihal, "Nerd-on-Nerd Violence: Scientific Conflict in Astrophysics Popularizations"
Humanities Poster Competition 2014
The winners of the TORCH and Humanities Division poster competition were announced on Tuesday 17th June 2014.
The winning poster was created by Rachel Delman (History), whose poster illustrated her Arts and Humanities Research Council funded project "Elite Women, Power and the Domestic Environment in the Fifteenth Century". Rachel won £150 of Amazon vouchers. Please click here to see her poster.
Sarah Ward (History) came in second place with her poster describing "Royalism, Religion and Revolution: The Gentry of North-East Wales 1640-88", winning £100 of Amazon vouchers. Please click here to see her poster.
In third place was Marlena Whiting (Classics), whose poster on "Travel in the Late Antique Levant: a study of networks of communication and travel infrastructure in the 4th-7th centuries" won her £50 of Amazon vouchers. Please click here to see her poster.
