I am a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College and a member of the Faculty of Theology and Religion.
My work examines the intersection of philosophy and religion after Kant. Currently I am writing a book on the use of creation myths in German Idealism, and considering how these myths inform competing accounts of historical progress. My first two books concentrated on modern hermeneutics in the German tradition, especially Heidegger. In both of those books I tried to show how tradition shapes what counts as reasonable, and how religious communities make reasonable meaning of their sacred texts.
