DPhil student
Maciek Czerkawski

Maciek Czerkawski is a DPhil student in Philosophy. His interest in phenomenology sparked when he studied for his first degree in Psychology and Philosophy (Aberdeen, 2012), focusing at that time on the intersections of social perception and phenomenology of alterity. This line of scrutiny extended into his Masters dissertation in Philosophy (Warwick, 2013), which saw him carry out a phenomenological analysis of libertine desire and intersubjectivity, drawing on the writings of the Marquis de Sade. After a two year break from the academia, Maciek is now back to the disciplinary basics, trying to develop a novel optics on Heidegger’s Being and Time inspired by Husserl’s conception of the intuition of essence.
