Nora Bardelli

DPhil Candidate


Nora Bardelli is a PhD candidate at the Refugee Studies Centre, Oxford Department of International Development. She holds a master’s degree in Anthropology and Sociology of Development from the Graduate Institute in Geneva (2014), and her PhD thesis is a study of the refugee status of Malians living in an urban context in Burkina Faso, and it looks at how the status and category refugee move, circulate and change in, by, and for people concerned by it. Her broad research interests lie in the field of anthropology of (forced) migration and humanitarianism - particularly in West Africa and Burkina Faso, where she’s been doing ethnographic research since 2013.
