Modus Operandi art consultants has been responsible for the development of the public art strategy for the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter (ROQ) on behalf of the University. The public art strategy is designed to provide an overarching framework for an holistic approach to integrating public art across the ROQ, reflecting the University’s vision for an integrated campus that encourages collaboration between disciplines.
In February 2013 internationally renowned artist Simon Periton was appointed as site-wide artist, a role conceived to create a unique, distinctive and memorable cultural identity for the ROQ. Simon’s proposal builds on the concept of cross-pollination and interaction between disciplines and will be developed with the University’s Humanities Division and the departments occupying the ROQ site.
Modus Operandi is curating and managing the public art programme over the development period of the ROQ site.  The vision for the public art programme is that it will act as a creative catalyst connecting people and places within and beyond the quarter.
