Dr Armand D’Angour and graduate students from the Faculty of Classics will present the Orestes papyrus – a unique specimen of Classical Greek music. The presenters will illustrate how the music imitates the content of the text, using available performance resources (voice/singers/instrumentalist) and show videos of different aspects of the reconstruction. In addition there will be a short talk on how ancient vocal sounds were theorised.
