Researcher Training Image

A series of talks by professionals in the Creative Industries including Josh Baldwin (Lead Designer at Coldwood Gaming - Unravel Two) considering the following questions:

•How do academics work with the Creative Industries to tell stories in powerful ways about the past?

•Researchers have a long history of collaboration with heritage sites, providing vital academic insight into collections and archives. However, engaging public audiences with the histories of these places can often be challenging. How can areas of ‘New Entertainment’ use academic research to bring these sites to life?

SPEAKER 1:

Josh Baldwin, Lead Designer at Coldwood Gaming (creators of Unravel Two): Josh previously worked with Creative Assembly on their historical games and is consulting for Jo-Mei in Berlin on their latest narrative game. Josh will be discussing systemic storytelling in gaming, including the potentials for AI in this space.

SPEAKER 2:

Rachel Wang, Director at Chocolate Films: Chocolate Films have been working in the arts and heritage sectors since 2001, producing content for many of the UK’s leading organisations and institutions including the National Portrait Gallery, the National Galleries of Scotland, Art Fund and the British Library.
