BONAVERO INSTITUTE OF HUMAN RIGHTS - GILLY LEVENTIS MEETING ROOM
The Fiction and Human Rights Network is hosting a screening of the 2018 short film, The Foreigner's Home, directed by R. Brown and G. Pingree. The documentary centres of the work of African American author Toni Morrison when she was a guest curator at the Louvre in 2006. Focusing not on her own fiction, but on her role as public intellectual and cultural critic, it is a compelling and uplifting examination of the fundamental role of the arts and creativity in human rights and social justice.
The film is around fifty minutes long, to be followed by a Q&A session led by Oxford students, Sascha Dacosta-Hinds and William Mouelle Makolle, and chaired by Tessa Roynon.
