As we advance with our research on the Hurren material, we are preparing ourselves for an evening at the Weston Library, alongside colleagues from the Modern Languages Faculty and the Taylor Institution Library.
The forthcoming “Library Lates” event promises to offer a multicultural experience with music, dancing and fun language activities that showcase linguistic and cultural diversity in the UK and beyond. We will be there, part of the “Living Library”, with texts, maps, and sounds, and ready to talk to you about our current work and plans for the future. You will have the chance to read and listen to audio recordings in the Istro-Romanian language, learn about this dying language, and even test your ability to understand it – an exercise which, as you will see, depends on the languages that you already speak.
If you would like to come along to this event, please book a FREE ticket here.
The full programme will be made available before the event to help you plan your evening.
Your booking for “Library Lates” will include access to the exhibition Babel: Adventures in Translation.
See you soon.
