Literature and Transnational Citizenship

centre of british studies

This project brings together ten graduate students in literary studies and their supervisors drawn from faculties of modern languages, English and German, across institutions in Oxford and Berlin. The purpose is to train students in new methodologies in transnational literary studies, across period boundaries, alongside world experts in the field; and to facilitate the exchange of cutting-edge research in literary studies between Oxford and Berlin that could form the basis for future collaborations and applications for external funding. It consists of two one-and-a-half day workshops to take place in Berlin and Oxford respectively, and will culminate in a public presentation of the outcomes within the context of the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften (the long night of the sciences, June 2019), a high-profile, large-scale public event organised using university and public spaces in Berlin.

The full programme for the Berlin based workshops can be found here.

Audience: Invitation only
