The Archive of Performances of Greek and Roman Drama (APGRD) are hosting a film screening with discussion panel on 'Silent Cinema and the Classics: Purity (1916) and L' Esclave de Phidias (1917)'. After an introduction by Pantelis Michelakis (Bristol) two films, Purity (1916) and L' Esclave de Phidias (1917), will be screened with a live musical accompaniment by Stephen Horne (BFI house pianist and a leading silent film accompanist). The evening will conclude with a discussion led by Oliver Taplin with Sue Jones, Laura Marcus, Pantelis Michelakis, and Stephen Horne.
