Charlotte works on textual and visual cultures in late medieval France, and is in the early stages of preparing a project on pilgrimage in medieval French literature. Her interest in pilgrimage was sparked by her own experience walking the Camino de Santiago, which she completed in 2018. This ancient pilgrimage route passes through Roncesvalles, the setting for the Chanson de Roland, the foundational text of medieval French literature, which was largely disseminated thanks to pilgrims undertaking the Camino. She occasionally blogs her academic adventures at miniadventuresonfoot.wordpress.com.
