Kristina’s recently completed DPhil research project, funded by Oxford-Aidan Jenkins Scholarship, focused on the memory of the Greco-Turkish War (1919-1922) and the exchange of the Greek-Turkish populations in 1923. Through a number of case studies and different media — including comics — Kristina discussed how memories of these events are transmitted at the time when witnesses remain a few. Before starting her DPhil, Kristina completed a BA in Linguistics at University College London and MSt in Modern Greek at Oxford. Besides her academic research, Kristina also enjoys sports journalism, and she has assisted in reporting on London 2012 Paralympic Games, World Rowing Championships, and sports events leading to Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
