Lloyd (Meadhbh) Houston is the Hertford College – Faculty of English DPhil Scholar in Irish Literature in English at the University of Oxford. His thesis explores the political and aesthetic roles of sexual health discourse in the emergence of Irish Modernism. Other research interests include queer modernisms, literature and the law, and the institutional construction of obscenity. His work has been featured in the ‘Review of English Studies’, ‘The Library’, and the ‘Irish Studies Review’. He was recently awarded the 2017 British Association for Irish Studies Essay Prize.
