Call for inspirational speakers for PER Event, 1 June 2019, Pitt Rivers Museum and St John's College
We are looking for researchers who are working in any field related to Anthropology to showcase their work as part of an Anthropology Study Day for Year 12 students. We are constructing a ‘marketplace’ event in St John's College, where students can hear more about the breadth of study, following an Anthropology or Archaeology degree. Bring objects, research papers and posters along and inspire the next generation of Anthropologists to broaden their horizons. This would make a great first Public Engagement with Research (PER) experience for early career researchers. Any area is welcome, but could include areas such as Gender, Migration, Biological, Cultural, applied Anthropology fields, Identity, Museum-specific, Material Culture, Digital, Ethnography and fieldwork, Art, Image, and Visual Anthropology, etc. All attendees are welcome to visit the Pitt Rivers Museums handling collection and use an object to help engage students, if this is supportive. A ‘Thank You’ will be held in the Lamb and Flag at the end of the event, for everyone.
