Funding success for Histories of Childhood

The Heritage Partnerships Team  is pleased to celebrate a funding achievement for our collaboration with The National Trust. This project on Histories of Childhood will offer new perspectives on properties and spaces in the care of heritage organisations.

Professor Sian Pooley (Tutor in Modern British History and Director of the Centre for the History of Childhood), has been awarded a TORCH Knowledge Exchange Fellowship for her collaborative research with the National Trust into histories of childhood. The work will support the National Trust in its vision to increasingly engage young people, expand its expertise in the history of childhood and gain greater understanding of its child-related collections.

The Fellowship further builds upon Dr Pooley’s collaborative work with the National Trust over the past two years, including the 2022 ‘Children & Heritage’ symposium, a new AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award, AHRC Doctoral Placements, student Micro-Internships and a TORCH Knowledge Exchange Innovation Fund project.
