Centre for Gender, Identity & Subjectivity graduate and ECR workshop with Glasgow University

'GENDER & INEQUALITY'

8 June 2017

CGIS is organising an exciting graduate workshop with the University of Glasgow on 8 June 2017 on the theme of 'Gender & Inequality'. Professor Lyndal Roper and Professor Alex Shepard will be leading the day and facilitating discussions around these themes. Coffee and lunch will be provided.

Prof Alex Shepard (Director of the Centre for Gender History)

Hannah Telling (PhD student) – male violence in 19thc Scotland

Rebecca Mason (PhD student) – married women and the law in early modern Scotland

Mary Jacobs (PhD student) – radical masculinity in the English Revolution

Dr Tanya Cheadle (ECR) – sexual progressives in Late Victorian Scoland

Dr Catriona Macleod (ECR) – women’s enterprise in Glasgow, 1740-1830 (working on the ‘Producing Change: Gender and Work in Early Modern Europe’ Leverhulme International Network)

Dr Emily Ryder (ECR) – collective memory in 20thc Italy (working on the ‘Translating Feminisms’ Leverhulme International Network)

More details will be provided in due course but for now we are looking for graduate and ECR speakers for 15 minute papers on the broad theme of "Gender & Inequality". This is an opportunity for you to supportively discuss work in progress and to receive feedback on your ideas so do still consider submitting a paper even if you are at an early stage of your graduate studies.

Deadline for papers is 15 May 2017.
