The National Trust at Ham House in Richmond are looking to work with M.St., D.Phil and Early Career Researchers from the University of Oxford on an exciting project to re-interpret and re-display an important sequence of rooms within this exceptionally important seventeenth-century property.
We are looking for research consultants eager to participate in a half-day workshop at Ham House. This ‘story intervention’ workshop is designed to create focused, structured, and purposeful engagement between researchers and National Trust staff to help answer particular questions about a property’s collection, story or importance. This workshop would especially suit those researching:
· seventeenth and early eighteenth-century ceremonial and domestic culture,
· politics and society in Restoration and Caroline Britain,
· seventeenth and early eighteenth-century architecture
· the country house in Britain
· history of collecting and material culture
