Dear Medievalists,

On behalf of all at OMS, I would like to wish you a very happy 2023! I hope that you all had an enjoyable and peaceful break, and are feeling well-rested and ready for the approaching Hilary Term.

As you all return to work, please do remember to send me your submissions for the Medieval Booklet. Please email your submissions to luisa.ostacchini@ell.ox.ac.uk no later than Wednesday 11th January to ensure that they are included in the booklet, calendar and weekly email newsletter. As a reminder, please ensure that your submissions include date, time, and place information for your seminars and events. If you do not have all of the information yet, please do send me a placeholder: the booklet is an online 'live' document and can be updated. A static, pdf version will be sent out on Monday of first week. Thank you to all those who have sent me submissions over the Christmas period!

Please also see the following call for responses for the TEAMS Middle English Texts Series Digital Redesign User Survey: please note that this survey will stop collecting responses on January 9, 2023, at 11:59 pm Eastern Time (UTC-5:00). Over its thirty-two years of publishing, METS has published and provided free online access to hundreds of digital editions of medieval texts, many of which would otherwise be rare, prohibitively expensive, or non-existent as traditional print editions. These open-access editions have made it possible for instructors, students, and researchers alike to teach, learn, and advance scholarship on medieval British literature wherever they are in the world. An open-access digital collection, however, is only as accessible and useful as its website and user interface allow it to be – and over the past few years, it has become clear that both the METS website and its approach to digital editions need an update. Feedback from users like you will be pivotal in reimagining both with the needs of our diverse user base in mind. Survey Link: https://tinyurl.com/mets-redesign

Best wishes, and looking forward to welcoming you all back to Oxford.
