Please note - Workshop 1 and 2 are open to Oxford Univeristy staff and students only.

When growing up, what were the songs you listened to? Who were your favourite artists or bands? How do these tunes resonate with you today? How do they shape a sense of homes?

This creative writing workshop will be hosted by TORCH visiting fellow and poet Dr. Jennifer Wong. We will start the workshop with a selection of Chinese pop songs (with translated lyrics provided). You are also welcome to bring along your favourite tracks to share, which can be from any place and time period. We will use these to prompt reflection on culture, narrative, and sound, and think about how we can express this through creative writing. During the workshop, Dr. Wong will then support you as you develop your own poems and short stories.
