Activity Planning Micro-Internship

Oxford University students are warmly invited to undertake a remote micro-internship with the Sulgrave Manor Trust in September 2021. This micro-internship was brokered by the Heritage Parterships Team and organised through the Careers Service Micro-Internship Programme.

Sulgrave Manor Trust is a unique independent charitable trust which owns and preserves Sulgrave Manor near Banbury, ancestral home of George Washington, first president of the United States of America. As an accredited Museum the Trust works to encourage access for diverse audiences and to encourage young people to achieve their full potential.

Whilst the Trust has hosted numerous apprentices and interns, this is the first micro internship opportunity with the organisation. Through this micro-internship, you will help to introduce new family audiences to museums and heritage attractions. You will research industry best practice, competitor offers, create templates for new activities, and consider promotion, logistics, and budgeting. This is a valuable opportunity for insight into a small charitable organisation and historic house museums.

Candidates will be considered from any academic discipline.
You will need to demonstrate:

  • Good written communication skills
  • Excellent personal time management
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • An interest in informal learning

Knowledge of and experience of producing written materials for a family audience is preferable, but not essential.
