Professor Katherine O'Brien O’Keeffe (Clyde and Evelyn Slusser Professor of English at the University of California, Berkeley; Eastman Professor 2017-18) will be speaking at an event "'Beorhtre bote': Beowulf and the Satisfactions of Coin and Flesh”.

About the speaker

Professor Katherine O’Brien O’Keeffe will be the visiting Eastman Professor at Balliol for the whole academic year; she specialises in the literary culture of Anglo-Saxon England. Her research focuses on cultural transmission, editing in manuscript cultures, and questions of agency in early medieval culture.
