Book at Lunchtime welcomes Nandini Das, Professor of Early Modern Literature and Culture and Tutorial Fellow at Exeter College, Oxford. Professor Das will be discussing her book Courting India which has been described by the Financial Times as "a triumph of writing and scholarship" and The Literary Review as "an utterly absorbing narrative".

Courting India is a profound and ground breaking new history of one of the most important encounters in the history of colonialism: the British arrival in India in the early seventeenth century.

We welcome you to enjoy a fascinating discussion as Professor Das is joined by an expert panel for the session - Professor Susan Doran (History) and Professor Joe Moshenska (English)

Wednesday 11 October. 12.30pm lunch followed by the discussion from 1pm-2pm.
