About the role

TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities) is a major University of Oxford initiative that seeks to stimulate and support research that transcends disciplinary and institutional boundaries. It is a hub for humanities research engagement and a place to develop innovative ideas and collaborative partnerships both within and beyond academia.

The main purpose of this role is to plan, manage and deliver communications across the whole range of TORCH activities covering public engagement with research, research engagement, knowledge exchange and the Humanities Cultural Programme. In addition to delivery of day-to-day of communications, and responsibility for the TORCH website, social media and newsletter, the postholder will develop and deliver an overall Communications Strategy.

About you

This post offers the opportunity for varied work across a range of projects in a dynamic and exciting environment. As this is a senior role in a high profile area of work, you will need to have extensive communications experience in print, digital and social media. You will have excellent writing skills, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to analyse data to inform strategy. You will be able to work independently in a complex environment, taking initiative and effectively meeting deadlines.
