Dealing with Disasters: An International Perspective, 1870-2000

The Faculty of History of the University of Oxford and Jesus College will host a workshop entitled Dealing with Disasters: An International Perspective, 1870-2000. The aim of this workshop is to bring together historians, social scientists and practitioners to use the methodologies and concepts deployed in the study of ‘disasters’ as a lens to explore the history of international organizations, with particular regard to their role in sustaining international security and facilitating development.
