The (en)coding Heritage Network team will be offering an introduction to Digital Cultural Heritage at the Oxford Digital Humanities at Oxford Summer School 2021.

The Digital Humanities at Oxford Summer School invites participants to engage with experts in the Digital Humanities on a wide range of topics. The event will take place on Zoom from 12-15 July 2021 with morning lectures and optional afternoon interactive workshop sessions. Thursday 15 July will include a special programme of keynotes from experts in Digital Humanities.

The Digital Cultural Heritage strand, organized and delivered by Dr. Lia Costiner and Prof. Matthew Nicholls of the TORCH (en)coding Heritage Network, will introduce participants to methods for capturing, analysing, and digitally displaying cultural heritage, including the digital capture of objects and the creation of 3D models, the creation of augmented reality smartphone applications and virtual reality environments.

An afternoon interactive session will give participants the opportunity to discover 3D modelling, using the software SketchUp.
