Happy Baby | Performed Reading and Lunch

prh happy baby

Happy Baby is a live performed reading of a work in development by JJ Pálka Johnson exploring bodies, care, dependency, and the politics of reproductive experience. This session will include a partial performance by performers followed by a shared lunch and informal conversation with attendees. The event is free and open to all, with food provided, and scheduled so it can be attended before the Ruskin DPhil seminar later that afternoon.

This occasion offers Oxford researchers and students an embodied encounter with the work and an invitation to think together about how performance and research can meet in process and practice.

Happy Baby will be published as part of the Scores series for Montez Press later this year and will be performed in different venues including Somerset House over 2026 - 2027.

This event is supported by the Performance Research Hub's Participatory Event Grants.
