Humanities Beyond Academia: Exploring Innovation and Entrepreneurship through the Humanities

This seminar series introduces students and early career researchers to the challenges and opportunities of humanities-oriented ventures. Talks by innovative speakers from academia and industry, who apply an entrepreneurial approach to their ventures, will be combined with skill-based workshops.

A range of seasoned professionals will be invited to deliver the seminars and skill-based workshops. The programme will be coordinated by Dr Sylvia Alvares-Correa at Oxford Edge, with sessions hosted in association with TORCH.

Three seminars and corresponding skill workshops will run in both Michaelmas and Hilary Terms.

Michaelmas

SESSION 1: Inaugural talk (Ertegun House, 37a St Giles’, Week 2, Thursday 23 October, 5pm-6.15pm)

The first session will introduce Humanities Beyond Academia’ with a talk that explores how an entrepreneurial approach can be applied across academic and industry settings, followed by a Q&A. It will be co-hosted with Ertegun House as part of their Ertegun Futures series.
