This interdisciplinary one-day symposium will bring together scholars from across the humanities, whose research engages with the materiality of the medieval world. Our aim in organising this symposium is to provide a forum in which speakers and participants can both reflect upon and anticipate new avenues for materiality studies, specifically with reference to the late medieval period (c.1350-1550).

Keynote speaker: Dr. Felicity Heal (Jesus College, Oxford), ‘The Great Household: Material, Spatial and Social Change in England, 1400-1550.’

The day will end with a round table and closing remarks on the future directions for medieval materiality studies, and a wine reception.
