Philip Ross Bullock, a renowned scholar on Russian literature and music and Fellow in Russian at Wadham College, Oxford, introduces today's concert with Claire Booth and Christopher Glynn (details here). He discusses the close friendship between Mussorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov, as well as the professional rivalry between these two titans of Russian music. An invaluable and insightful introduction to the concert that follows.
