Garsington Opera presents a gripping new commission, written by leading British composer David Sawer with award-winning playwright Rory Mullarkey, and based on the novel by Chilean author Roberto Bolaño.

Ben Bollig, Professor of Spanish American Literature, will talk about the opera’s source text, Roberto Bolaño’s prize-winning 1993 novel La pista de hielo, and the importance of the Chilean author’s work in the wider context of contemporary Latin American Literature. He will be in discussion with Professor Philip Bullock, Professor of Russian Literature and Music, and the event will be chaired by Julie Curtis.

Our friends from Garsington Opera at Wormsley have an offer for Oxford students and staff who might be interested in attending the world premiere performances ofThe Skating Rink. They would love a wider audience to have the opportunity to see the production and are delighted to be able to offer £30 tickets for the following dates: 5, 10 and 16 July.
