The Archive of a Visual and Written Dissent in the Early Modern Iberian World
Thursday 12 May 2022, 3pm BST
Kloppenburg Room, Cohen Quad, Exeter College, Walton Street
This talk will consist of a presentation and critical discussion of the materials used by Jorge Flores (University of Lisbon, and TORCH International Fellow) and Professor Giuseppe Marcocci (History) in their ongoing project on the expressions of political dissent in the early modern Iberian world, about which they have already published an article together in Itinerario, and have recently organised an international workshop.
In particular, the two speakers will reflect on the questions and challenges posed by their evidence, and the strategies that they have developed to address them.
No booking required. Event open to members of the University.
