About the role

TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities) is a major University of Oxford initiative that seeks to stimulate and support research that transcends disciplinary and institutional boundaries. It has a key role in promoting Oxford humanities research internally and externally.

This role is responsible for the executive administrative management of the international collaborations of TORCH, including short-term and long-term projects, and offers the opportunity to work at the centre of TORCH.

The role will strategically oversee TORCH and the Humanities Division’s current and potential international reach and connections. The support for international engagement through TORCH is focused on supporting research engagement of the highest quality and has an inclusive and diverse reach and impact. This role would also be the key representative of Humanities international research engagement and therefore build connections and relationships with organisations beyond the University.

About you

The post offers the opportunity for very varied work across a range of skill sets in supporting a critical function of the University. You will have a good first degree and significant experience of acting as a Team manager or Office Administrator in a large complex organisation. You will have excellent communication skills, a proven ability to deliver and manage projects and events and strong numeracy skills and the ability to manage finances and understand data. Your strong decision making skills will enable you to work independently and you will have a self-motivated proactive approach.
