TORCH Research Hub Coordinator – Medical Humanities

Humanities Division

Grade 5.1 (£15.15 per hour) – Fixed term contract for up to 12 months

Hours: approximately 4 hours per week (up to a maximum of 6) on a zero-hours basis, mostly in term time. 

About the role

Medical Humanities is one of four TORCH Headline Research Hubs that are points of synergy for cutting-edge, boundary crossing research which are central to Humanities.

 

Each TORCH Hub is supported by a post-graduate coordinator who plays a key role in the administration and organisation of Hub activity.  The post offers an exciting opportunity for a graduate student to get involved in wide reaching interdisciplinary research and to contribute to the shaping of a major Research Hub.  You will be responsible for organising regular meetings, ensuring good communication with stakeholders, helping to organise and publicise events and ensuring an up to date online presence for the programme.  For a full role description, please see here.

 

About you

You will be a current postgraduate student at the University of Oxford with a research focus that is relevant to Medical Humanities, and a good understanding of the current issues covered by the Research Hub.

 

You will need good networking and people skills including working with senior academic leaders, administrative staff and other students.  You must have excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.  Accuracy, attention to detail and versatility are essential to provide effective administrative support as necessary.
