Writing Black Women's Biography - A Conversation with Professor Barbara Savage

Pink background with a black and white logo of the rad cam and a face, and clenched fists. The words 'race and resistance' are painted in red over the top.

Barbara Savage is Professor of Africana Studies, University of Pennsylvania, and 2018-19 Harmsworth Professor of US history, Oxford. She recently co-edited the book,  ‘Toward an Intellectual History of Black Women’, and is currently writing a biography of Merze Tate, the first African American woman to study at Oxford. Her talk on the challenges of writing black women’s biography will be followed by a Q&A and open discussion session.
