This network was funded from November 2023 to July 2024.
The Oxford Latin American Graduate Network (OLAGN) was an interdisciplinary network that sought to develop productive relationships between Oxford students working on topics relating to Latin America, primarily within the humanities and social sciences.
We convened a termly seminar series, in which students presented their research and received feedback from fellow students and guest academics. We also hosted regular film screenings to discuss cinematic works produced in Latin America. These initiatives had proven to be an excellent occasion for multidisciplinary exchange, critical thinking and networking.
We also hosted a Series of Interdisciplinary Workshops, which took place between Hilary and Trinity Term 2024. We began with two reading groups to develop an active intellectual community, creating a shared framework within which approached interdisciplinarity, culminating in a final two-day conference where we discussed the concept of Margins in Latin American studies in Trinity 2024.
