journal logo

Intersectio is the peer-reviewed journal of the Oxford 'Intersectional Humanities’ Research Hub at TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities). It showcases cross-generational research which draws on feminist, gender, critical-race, decolonial, queer, critical-disability, non-binary and trans theory, aesthetic practice and activism to challenge assumptions, create different affinities and contribute to social justice and human understanding in the world.

Intersectio is intergenerational: a collaboration between emerging and more established scholars to promote interdisciplinary research that draws on innovative methodologies and alternative modes of presentation. We have a commitment to expanding academic form, including shorter pieces and more experimental, creative work.

Intersectio
invites submissions of up to 4,000 words, especially from graduate students and other emerging scholars and practitioners. We also invite shorter reviews of academic, artistic and musical events in Oxford which contribute to the vitality of intersectional conversation, including those organised by students and tutors on the interdisciplinary MSt in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
