Oxford Islamic Studies Network

About

The Islamic Studies Network (ISN) aims to connect and showcase the work of postgraduates who research Islam at Oxford. The objective of the Network is twofold:

1. to create a social space, foster community, and open opportunities of collaboration, for postgraduate researchers of Islam across the different faculties and divisions at the University, and

2. to assist in the dissemination of knowledge that is being produced by postgraduates on Islam at the University.

Each term, the ISN hosts a research colloquium to provide postgraduate scholars of Islam the chance to share their ongoing research. In addition to this research colloquium, the ISN supports DPhil students interested in running events related to the Network’s objective. Examples have included a Discussion Group on Islamic Philosophy and Theology led by Sina Maghami Nick, and a Reading Group on Lived Islam led by Anika Kabani and Alice Catanzaro.
