About

The Oxford Latin American Graduate Network (OLAGN) is an interdisciplinary network that seeks to develop productive relationships between Oxford students working on topics relating to Latin America, primarily within the humanities and social sciences.

We convene a termly seminar series, in which students present their research and receive feedback from fellow students and guest academics. We also host regular film screenings to discuss cinematic works produced in Latin America. These initiatives have proven to be an excellent occasion for multidisciplinary exchange, critical thinking and networking.

This year, as a TORCH Critical Thinking Community, we will also host a Series of Interdisciplinary Workshops, which will take place between Hilary and Trinity Term 2024. We will begin with two reading groups to develop an active intellectual community, creating a shared framework within which to approach interdisciplinarity, culminating in a final two-day conference where we discuss the concept of Margins in Latin American studies in Trinity 2024. If you are interested in hearing more about the Network’s news and events, you can send a blank email to latin_american_grad_network-subscribe@maillist.ox.ac.uk to subscribe.
