Luca Farina got his Bachelor Degree in Cultural Heritage Studies from the University of Milan and his Master Degree in Religious Studies from the University of Padua and Venice with a dissertation about the cultural and political relationships intertwined between the Byzantine Empire and the Islamicate world during the second half of the 14th century. He especially focused on the transmission of scientific knowledge from Arabic into Greek. He spent several study-periods abroad (Bochum, Paris, Fez) and he participated to numerous specialization courses concerning Manuscript Studies. He now is a joint PhD. candidate in History at the University of Padua, Verona and Venice and the École Pratique des Hautes Études studying the role of astronomy and astrology at the court of Andronikos IV Paleologos and the case study of Abū Maʿšar graecus.
