Lucy Armstrong-Blair studied English and Art History at Cambridge (matric 1997) and went to work in Sotheby’s 19thC Paintings Department for 2 years before undertaking an MA at Birmingham University in Heritage Conservation and Management. She worked in two regional auction houses before being appointed Assistant Curator for the West in the National Trust in 2006. She has since worked as a Curator for the North West as well as a project curator for various projects including: the Howard de Walden rooms at Chirk Castle; Coleridge Cottage; and To the Manor Reborn BBC series at Avebury Manor. Lucy is currently the (part-time) Curator for the National Trust’s Herefordshire portfolio as well as Hanbury Hall and the Children’s Country House at Sudbury Hall.
