Rebecca De Souza is a DPhil candidate in Spanish literature at Hertford College, Oxford. Her research project centres on the depiction of religious, cultural and gender identity in the travelling epic narrative Los siete infantes de Lara, from the medieval period through to its recent recasting as a graphic novel in 2017.
Her wider research interests include the rewriting and transmission of historical narratives and mythology in comics and graphic novels, the limits of fiction in professional wrestling, and the decolonisation of curricula.
