Surprisingly, Woolfenden doesn’t provide any music for Ariel’s entrance. Ariel is very often associated most strongly with music, and given a lot of music by theatre composers, but Woolfenden chooses to stay mainly with Ariel’s songs.

Ariel’s opening lines were whispered, and spoken through a radio microphone. The prompt book documents that Ariel delivered these lines inanimately, but Prospero’s facial reactions were much more animated.
