TORCH has a longstanding partnership with Ark-T. Based in Temple Cowley, they are an Oxford community arts charity where people, art and powerful ideas come together. They use the powers of creativity and community to change lives. TORCH has connected with Ark-T programmes over the years to support their work in community-driven social change. This has involved researchers from a range of Humanities disciplines being part of Ark-T’s projects including the ROAR Festival and Community Hub Days. Our aim is to enable co-created projects that support creative learning and participatory research.
Our next collaboration will be to set-up a Creative Writing and Wellbeing Programme for adults. The first theme will be ‘Everyday Oxford’ co-led by Ark-T staff and Professor Patrick McGuinness, based at Ark-T in Temple Cowley Shopping Centre. If you would like to attend the Ark-T Community Hub Days, everyone is welcome to come along. See the Ark-T website for more information.
