The finale event of Japan Season, part of the Humanities Cultural Programme, ended on a high note on Monday 29th November as the courtyard of the Radcliffe Humanities Cultural Programme exploded with light, sound and theatre for Drummers Unite!

Drummers Unite! showcased two exciting drumming groups; Joji Hirota and The London Taiko Drummers & Spark! for 90 minutes of an outside performance against the backdrop of the beautifully lit Radcliffe Humanities Building, complete with a Christmas tree that arrived just in time for the show.

Drummers Unite opened with a performance by Spark! that combined high-impact drumming, dynamic choreography and beautiful lighting design, opening the show and surprising the 400 people gathered in the courtyard by arriving from 5 different points around the building – they entertained and engaged with guests before taking to the stage together for a series of choreographed routines and performances. Joji Hirota and The London Taiko Drummers then dazzled guests by performing a very lively 45 minute set before Spark! returned to close the show.
