Ancient Anatolia Day

A fun day of study on Ancient Anatolia

Online and in person, Wolfson College, Linton Rd, Oxford OX2 6UD

The event will be free and will include a lunch and two coffee breaks, but in order to enable us to welcome as many participants as possible, we would like to encourage participants to make a small donation (for example, £15) if they feel able to. Join us for a fun day of study on Ancient Anatolia! This event is open to everyone, especially to those who would like to know more about Ancient Anatolia, it languages and its cultures.

 

The Ancient Anatolia Network is pleased to host an Ancient Anatolia Day on Monday 17 June, at Wolfson College. This day celebrates the breadth of the field of Anatolian Studies, as well as the fascinating connections with other areas of study of the ancient world. With introductory classes and workshops, there will be opportunities for participants to take lessons in subjects such as Hieroglyphic Luwian; cuneiform and alphabetic Anatolian scripts; Anatolian Archaeology and philology; and topics in ancient Anatolian history and society. Also, participants will have the unique chance to hear Hittite poetry and music performed live!
